白城市人均耕地、草原、宜林地、水面、芦苇面积都居吉林省首位。有比较丰富的石油资源、风力资源以及多种矿产资源，境内有世界A级湿地、国家级自然保护区向海，国家级自然保护区莫莫格。1992年向海被国务院指定列入《国际重要湿地名录》同年被世界野生动物基金会评定为“具有国际意义的A级自然保护区”。莫莫格为国际GEF项目重要检测区，是全国林业科普基地。2005年向海、莫莫格被国家评为“国家AAAA级旅游景区”。2009年“向海鹤舞”被评为“吉林八景”之一。2019年9月，荣获全国绿化模范单位。

The per capita cultivated land, grassland, suitable forest land, water surface and reed area of Baicheng city ranked first in Jilin Province. There are abundant oil resources, wind resources and a variety of mineral resources. There are world class a wetland, Xianghai National Nature Reserve and Momoge National Nature Reserve. In 1992, Xianghai was designated by the State Council to be included in the list of wetlands of international importance. In the same year, it was rated as "A-class nature reserve with international significance" by the World Wildlife Fund. Momoge is an important detection area of international GEF project and is a national forestry science popularization base. In 2005, Xianghai and Momoge were rated as "national AAAA tourist attractions". In 2009, "Xiang Hai he dance" was rated as one of the "Eight Sights of Jilin". In September 2019, it won the national greening model unit.
